A young girl, fifteen or sixteen, perhaps, dressed in an old-fashioned white dress and oversize sombrero, sat in a tree, singing loudly and slightly off-key in Spanish. Her voice had an odd rasp to it, and her dress sagged awkwardly on the left side of her body. Her long, curly hair obscured the left side of her face, but the right side was grinning widely as she sang.
This was Maria Vasquez, and she was not alive.

Hello there! What's your name, senorita? I'm Maria Vasquez!
